After having breakfast, we set for the toughest trail of the trek. The trail begins with ascend of steep slope immediately behind the last lodge of Thorung Phendi. The route is too steep at first but becomes less as we gain altitude. We pass many small cairns built by the travelers. After Thorung Phendi, we cross a small valley, descending to the stream & climbing far across the slope. The 4-5 hours steep climb takes you to a large chorten and a short distance after the prayer flags welcome you marking the top of the icy pass. Two peaks rise up from the saddle of the pass. To the north is Yakawa Kang 6482 m and to the south Khatung Kang 6488 m & far below Kaligandaki Valley."}},{"id":"tLSKNdIjk0","type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"After Throung La, the descent can be very tough though it's not steep at first. We pass within about 50 m of a large glacier. Then, pass few yak herders hut, the trail continues steeply down from here, crossing a stream to another collection of huts. The journey then passes through the meadows & reaches to Muktinath. The entire walk from Thorung-La is about 4 hours & during this trail we can have the first views of Dhaulagiri 8167m (the world's seven highest mountain). Nepal Social Treks Review

I’ve just completed the 15 day Everest Base Camp trek with Nepal Social Treks and can’t praise the company, guide & porter highly enough. My guide in particular, Lhakpa was an absolute star who could not do enough to make the time away as comfortable as possible. Considerate, knowledgeable, funny, kind & inspiring. I genuinely don’t think I could have completed the trek without their support! A lifetime ambition completed thanks :)

EBC by Gokyo

If you are planning to do the EBC, the Agency should be Nepal Social Trek and the Guide should be Santa Thabir Magar. Permanent communication during trekking and excellent coordination at all times. The alternative I recommend is Gokyo. Something heavier than the classic, but definitely extraordinary. Also the views of the great mountains during the circuit, are not to forget them

Great guide

The Everest Base Camp trek was amazing. Everything was organised for us. The accommodation and food was better than we expected. Our guide Amrit was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He adjusted our trip to follow our pace. When we got sick, he was extremely helpful and caring, and made sure we got the care we needed. We can't wait to return to trek again.

Reaching Everest Base Camp was a dream of mine and this trek was really amazing!! Narayan, our guide, was truly skilled and great company; he supported us even in the most difficult moments. We did the 12 days trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp. It was an amazing experience! The trip is beautiful. Our guide Narayan helped us in every moment to reach the final destination. The porters were very kind. We recommend this experience!
