Bardia National Park is the largest park in the lowland Terai covering an area of 968 sq. km. The park situated in Nepal’s Western Terai was established to protect representative ecosystems and conserve the tiger and its prey species. Initially, a small area was gazetted as the Royal Karnali Wildlife Reserve in 1976. When this area was protected, approximately 1500 people of the Babai valley were resettled outside the park allowing the vegetation and wildlife to flourish. In 1982, it was renamed as Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve, and in 1984 it was extended to its current size. The reserve was given the status of a National Park in 1988.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu To Bardia
Arrive in the lodge sometime today. In the afternoon discover Tharu life and culture with a guided walk from the lodge through neighbouring villages and farmland. Meals - Dinner
Day 2: Full Day Guided Jungle Walk
Full day guided Jungle Walk taking in various areas in the park and targetting different species. Packed lunch included.Meals - Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Day 3: Elephant Safari And Full Day Tour
Morning 1-hour Elephant Safari into the park. pm - Guided Jeep Safari, visiting areas of the park you didn't reach during the jungle walk. Meals - Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Day 4: Full Day Sightseeing Wildlife Tour
Full day Rafting Trip through the park on tributaries of the Karnali River. This tour includes several stops and short jungle walks to good wildlife viewing spots. Return to the lodge in a traditional local ox cart. A packed lunch is included.. Meals - Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Day 5: Departure To Kathmandu
Early morning bird watching walk outside the park followed by free time to relax or explore the surrounding village pm - Departure from Bardia. Various transfer options available

My two sons (age 25 and 27) and I had the most unbelievable, unforgettable and amazing trek, led by our fantastic guide Bishnu, supported by porters Narayan and Suman. Booking was really easy, with flexibility of starting dates. Any changes to itinerary were always discussed and agreed, ensuring our satisfaction. Bishnu ensured our safety at all times and worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything we needed to stay well and complete the challenging Lake and Thorong Pass without any problems. Nepal Social Treks was the most professional company I have travelled with. The airport pickup was smooth, followed by a nice stay at their hotel in Kathmandu. A day trip around Kathmandu was planned and despite being cut short, it was a very enjoyable tour. Pasang Sherpa, the trekking guide for my trip was a highly experienced guide and mountaineer and gave me an authentic Nepalese experience as we walked through the Himalayas. When it came time to summit Island Peak, I had absolute confidence in his ability to keep me safe at all times, and he led the expedition at my pace. As an inexperienced climber, Pasang made sure I had all the required skills before going onto the mountain. The transition from trekking to life back in Kathmandu was easy, and Basu and the team from Nepal Social Treks made sure I had a comfortable and enjoyable few days prior to leaving Nepal. I had an incredible experience doing the Manaslu Circuit trek!! As I was the only one who had booked, they paired me with another solo girl from a different company which worked super well. Our guide Nekhil was attentive, supportive and made us feel really safe. He was clearly a very experienced guide and gave us lots of tips to manage the altitude and trekking, plus having lots of fun together along the way! Our porter Chhiring was awesome too! Not only were the views incredible, it felt so nice to be ‘looked after’ and have everything taken care of so we could just enjoy ourselves. This included by the office in Kathmandu, who were so helpful and generous in giving me an extra day in a nearby hotel and lending me some gear. I couldn’t have been happier with the experience! I would definitely recommend :))
Hey, this was awesome! The Agency made all well, and especially, Ngima Sherpa is the best guide ever! He made my experience on everest view trek special and wonderful. His heartwarming, calm and respectful behaviour let me feel welcome and my needs during trek seen.
