The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is situated on the floodplains of the Sapta Koshi River in the southeastern Terai. The reserve was established in 1976 to preserve habitat for the only remaining population of Wild buffalo or Arna. The 176 sq km reserve is Nepal's smallest. The eastern and western embankments of the Sapta Koshi River ( one of the main tributaries of the Ganges) define the area. In 1987, Koshi Tappu was declared a Ramsar site (a wetland of international significance). The reserve has three distinct seasons. Summer (February through May)when it is intensely hot with minimum precipitation. Shade temperatures can reach 40 c. The monsoon season starts in late May/early June and lasts until September. During this time, there are heavy, frequent rainfalls. The rainfall is greatest during July, but high humidity and temperatures are experienced throughout the season. Winter (October through January) is characterized by clear skies and moderate temperatures, but it can still get quite cold.

Highly recommend Nepal social treks!
We did the Annapurna circuit trek with Bishnu as our guide and Nabin and Suman as our porters. It was an incredible experience, amazing views and rewarding trekking getting to experience the nepalese culture along with way. Bishnu was very knowledgeable about the mountains, preventing altitude sickness, and was always there to help us with our crampons, poles, or anything else we needed. We were very well fed/ fuelled and he kept us laughing along the way with his funny sayings. We were always in accommodation with amazing views too. Nabin and Suman our porters, hard to summarise how incredibly hard they both work all while always having a smile on their face. We could not have done the Trek without them and are forever grateful for how hard they work. Definitely recommend going with nepal social treks it was an incredible experience.
10/10 experience with Nepal Social Treks
My sister & I just completed the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Nepal Social Treks, our guide was Bishnu. He was absolutely incredible and planned everything perfectly for us. Made sure we were extremely well fed always, to have energy for the trek & acclimatised us so we did not have altitude sickness over the trek. He made it so fun, we were singing, dancing, and having a great time while we were on the tour. Also special shout out to our porters Nobin & Sumon. They were absolutely incredible and the strongest, sweetest & happiest guys. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and I would definitely use this company again for any future Nepal treks.
Trek to Everest Base Camp
Our 15-day trek to Everest Base Camp with Nepal Social Treks was an incredible experience from start to finish. A huge thank you to our amazing guide, Narayan. He kept us motivated, safe, and always in good spirits. Was such an awesome person to have guiding us. The itinerary was well paced, and the whole team including our amazing porters took great care of us throughout. Reaching Everest Base Camp was unforgettable, and we couldn’t have done it without them. Highly recommend Nepal Social Treks to anyone planning a trek in Nepal!
I had an incredible experience doing the Manaslu Circuit trek!! As I was the only one who had booked, they paired me with another solo girl from a different company which worked super well. Our guide Nekhil was attentive, supportive and made us feel really safe. He was clearly a very experienced guide and gave us lots of tips to manage the altitude and trekking, plus having lots of fun together along the way! Our porter Chhiring was awesome too! Not only were the views incredible, it felt so nice to be ‘looked after’ and have everything taken care of so we could just enjoy ourselves. This included by the office in Kathmandu, who were so helpful and generous in giving me an extra day in a nearby hotel and lending me some gear. I couldn’t have been happier with the experience! I would definitely recommend :))
Hey, this was awesome! The Agency made all well, and especially, Ngima Sherpa is the best guide ever! He made my experience on everest view trek special and wonderful. His heartwarming, calm and respectful behaviour let me feel welcome and my needs during trek seen. He knows a lot of trekking and the insides there in the mountains, showed me all possible in that 7 days and has my full 5-star review. Always again!
Amazing experience! We had a very loving and caring guide Narayan. Also not possible without our porters 💜💜
